Boca Raton, FL is centrally located along South Florida's east coast, equidistant from West Palm Beach to the north and Fort Lauderdale to the south. The City provides a unique blend of urban and suburban lifestyles. The 24th most populous city in Florida, Boca Raton covers over 29 square miles and enjoys five miles of oceanfront. The Boca Raton Fine Art Show™ is held outdoors in the heart of downtown Boca Raton, on north Federal Highway, between Palmetto Park Road and N.E. 2nd Street, adjacent to Sanborn Square Park. The location likely has an effect on the type of patrons it draws, who trend toward affluence with "money to spend".
From humble agricultural beginnings, the City of Boca Raton has become a regional business leader. By attracting cutting edge businesses and corporate headquarters over the last several decades, the City has benefited from a stable business environment. However, this is not the time to simply rest on one's laurels. Increased competition and global economic conditions require a pro-active approach to future economic development. Attracting and retaining successful businesses means that Boca Raton will continue to have the high quality of life that makes it the premier community in South Florida.
The Institute for the Arts and Education, Inc. is the 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization dedicated to educate and promote fine arts and crafts among all artists and students, of all age groups and diversity, and the general public. Our mission is to enhance artistry and community enrichment. IA&E implements ways to enrich lives and strengthen our community through the power of arts via ways in which we can help teach communities how art work is made, and to further the involvement of the community with our events. This association works to encourage creative expression and artistic excellence, and to expand public awareness, appreciation and acquisition of fine arts and fine crafts.
Young artists may want to start thinking about creating art work to enter into the Budding Artists Art Competition of the Boca Raton Fine Art Show™, another example of how this event brings art education into the community. The Budding Artists Art Competition invites kids ages 9-19, or grades 6-12, to submit their original and personally handmade art work to be publicly displayed at the event, and also for the opportunity to win a cash prize! There is $250 in Budding Artist awards: $100 Best Budding Artist, and three $50 Budding Artist Awards of Excellence. The art work entered will be placed in the "Budding Artists Art Competition" tent. Budding artists begin to learn the rules of being part of a professional art show, and are encouraged to speak with the professional artists in the show. The deadline for the Budding Artists Art Competition is December 30, 2013. To obtain a Budding Artists Art Competition application, click here.
