Estero, FL is located on the southwest coast of Florida, near Naples/Bonita. The event takes place outdoors at Miromar Outlets, an upscale outlet mall located off I-75 and Exit #123 Corkscrew Road/Miromar Outlets Blvd., with 140 stores including Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Coach. Miromar Outlets has been voted Southwest Florida’s “Best Factory Outlet Shopping Center” for 11 years in a row.
Located at the same intersection, is the Miromar Design Center, a unique interior design resource. Nearby is Miromar Lakes Beach & Golf Club, a gated resort community offering superlative amenities characteristic of an exclusive, world-class beach and golf resort, featuring 700 acres of aquamarine freshwater lakes and three miles of private white sandy beach. Miromar Lakes Beach & Golf Club has won the 2011 National Association of Home Builders' Gold Award for Community of the Year. This top honor recognizes Miromar Lakes as the #1 Residential Community in the United States. This is the highest honor a community can win. It is the residential equivalent of winning the "Best Picture" Oscar at the Academy Awards! The National Gold Award was presented to Miromar Lakes for its excellence and superiority. 2011 marks the 29th year for these annual awards. Along with the Miromar Lakes won 2010 NAHB Gold Award for Best Clubhouse in the United States for the Beach Club. This truly puts Miromar Lakes in a class of its own, as no other community has ever won both #1 Community and #1 Clubhouse in the United States. More info about this community at www.Miromar.com.
The Institute for the Arts and Education, Inc., a 501(c)(3) is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to Educate and Promote Fine Arts and Crafts among all Artists and Students, of all age groups and diversity, and the General Public. Our mission is to enhance Artistry and Community Enrichment. IA&E implements ways to enrich lives and strengthen our community through the Power of Arts via ways in which we can help teach communities how art work is made, and to further the involvement of the community with our events. This Association works to encourage creative expression and Artistic excellence, and to expand public awareness, appreciation and acquisition of fine arts and fine crafts.
Hot Works also partners with local 501c3 non-profit Organizations to be part of the event. One example is Lee County Alliance for the Arts will be participating to bring awareness to the community about their organization - the officially designated Arts Organization for Lee County charged with the mission to “facilitate and nurture the creation, development, promotion and education of arts and culture in Lee County”. In addition, Lee Memorial Health System’s Dis ABLEd Artist Program will help provide a venue at the Estero Fine Art Show for individuals with disabilities to showcase and sell their Artwork. Program Founder and Coordinator, Sonia Arledge-Lomano and a local foot Artist met at a local flea market in 1996. Together they had the vision to start a Gallery that would serve the Disabled Community. After receiving support from Hospital Administration, the first Art gallery opened at Lee Memorial Hospital in 1997. The Galleries have now expanded throughout the System’s other Campuses. Sonia says, “Promoting the creative spirits of those that are Disabled helps to increase their self-confidence and express their creativity. It greatly contributes to our workplaces and Communities, and it extinguishes old stereotypes regarding disability by highlighting the achievements of people with disabilities and reinforces their significant roles in society.” Any Disabled Artist is welcomed to participate in the Program. For further information about the Disabled Artist Program, please contact Sonia Arledge-Lomano at 239-334-5633 or Art@LeeMemorial.org.
